Here are a few updates related to this blog and what is in store for its future. I haven’t ever written a post like this before, so please bear with me. – WE
- I’m working on a longer short story right now. It should be ready for publication by February––famous last words, right? This story is quite different from other stories published on this blog, in terms of tone and subject matter, but if you like some of my other stories, like “The Fate of All Mankind” and “Whatever They Like,” I think you will really enjoy this new story.
- I’m also looking into re-publishing one or more of my short stories, and selling it for free, via Smashwords. This is still a ways away, but if anyone has experience publishing with Smashwords I’d appreciate some insight into the process. You can always learn more from people who’ve already done what you want to do.
- I signed up for The Daily Post’s “Blogging University” course last December. The instructors asked us to find new blogs and new tags to explore on WordPress. I’m now following about twenty tags, including weird fiction, short stories, longreads, mistakes, and of course Tommy Wiseau. I’ve also found a few more blogs to follow, like Sci-fi Interfaces and November Notebook.
- Just re-discovered the work of the Georgian/Russian writer Boris Akunin. The Winter Queen is the first book in his Erast Fandorin detective series, about a detective in 19th Century Moscow. Anyone who’s interested in detective stories, murder mysteries or Russian literature will find this book interesting. He has another series, about a nun detective named Sister Pelagia, which I haven’t read yet. It looks promising, but
onetwono more than three books at a time.
That’s it for now. Have a good day. If you have questions, comments, ideas, insults, etc. leave them below.
good luck with your various projects!
Thanks TJ!
